Garden Equipment Maintenance Contracts/Agreements?

I guess when I asked about anyone having a Sears Maintenance Contracts, thought their stock with Sears would drop. I didn't get any answers so, let's try again. Is it worth paying big bucks for a 2 or 3 year maintenance contract/agreement, and have you received the service/repairs when you wanted it ? I don't work for Sears or any other company that services Garden equipment, just looking for input from people who have bought and used these types of services. Thanks ? I know there can't be that many do-it-yourself people out there. I won't make fun of your answers or mishaps, and don't want anyone else to, just need to get information. Have only one answer to my question in the last two days. Can't tell me with all the junk e-mails that I have read, there aren't good business type people out there to come up with what has taken place with them. Thanks

  1. service contracts of any kind on any product are a bad idea. they are never worth the money charged for them.
  2. First off the contract dosen't cover blades and air filters. Only you can decide if it is worth it. Usually it fails after a new roof, car repairs, etc. have occured. If you could set money aside for such repairs you would be better off. Most people can't do that. They find another use for the money. If it fit's your needs go for it. Ignore other people. If friends and neighbors think it's a bad idea and you don't, just do it and don't tell them. Home owners insurance is a bad idea if you never need it. If you do you'll be glad you have it.
